These mixed media drawings and paintings are looking close-in at very small growing things. They were made in my garden during the first covid lock-down, here in Wales in 2020.
In these very small and intimate works, I am exploring the intensity, vulnerability and joy that comes through giving open attention to ordinary (extraordinary) things; a weed in my garden, a sycamore bud opening by the side of the disused railway, the leaves on an apple tree.
To put it simply, they are about drawing attention to ordinary things and opening up to momentary joys, and the feeling of being in love with the world.
