a very short video clip to share
still turning over in my mind the sorts of things I can do with videos of hands that are making
hands have their own intelligence, in making, and this is something that is worth drawing attention to
a very short video exploration today
A tiny video clip today. Pond skaters. Very fun. Totally mesmerising. Downstream of a footbridge in a place where I walk. I don’t know why they congregate there, but they are the main reason why I congregate there… There is something completely wonderful about pond skaters – these creatures actually skate on the surface tension itself, holding their position in the flowing water.
Imagining today the things that we do – rippling outwards in intersecting circles.
A video that I made yesterday, walking out in the rain:
A short video, still working with the watercolour scroll forms.
I heard a palliative care doctor talking once, she said that there are four things that people very often need to say before departing.
A sketch in film format that I made on the mountain at nightfall with a half moon rising. Its a film that is taking a scroll form. I’ve had an important realisation about what I am doing here – that I am really a book artist. I will write more about this later this week, clarify and deepen.
a video snippet, turbulence behind a tree stump in the river
And these, the other three tiny reminder videos.
Credits for the words I didn’t write:
‘this too will pass’ comes from a parable that I heard, I don’t know the origin ;
‘flare up like flame’ comes from a poem by Rilke (translated by Anita Barrows and Joanna Macy), and has lodged in my head.
Three short videos, the first of six I’ve made, of the tiny reminders that I’m working on.
